The Weaver is a building type in Pharaoh.

General InformationEdit

Weavers use flax to make linen. In addition to being a good for higher-level housing, linen is used in mortuaries and is a lucrative export good. Linen is sometimes required as burial provisions.

By default, weavers produce 47.1 units of linen per month, or 565 units of linen per year on average. With Ptah's Temple Complex, this is boosted to 69.6 units per month, or 835 per year. Thanks to the relatively low cost of flax (54 debens to import 100 units) and the high price of linen (160 per 100 units sold), producing linen is one of the most profitable activities in the game--particularly if the flax can be locally grown. Only papyrus, wood, copper and weapons sell for more. Weavers hold an advantage over papyrus, wood and weapons for some missions as these industries do not benefit from Ptah's Temple Complex (although wood production can increase from the altar to Amon at Osiris' Temple Complex).

Weavers do not necessarily need to be placed close to flax farms for maximum efficiency since flax is only harvested once a year in large quantities; however, linen production is aided by having storage yards close by accepting linen and stocking flax.

Seth's temple complex with the alter to Anubis also helps with selling linen, as mortuaries use less linen so there is more to sell.

Weavers are prone to fire. They are undesirable to live close to.
