The Recruiter is a building type in Pharaoh.

General InformationEdit

The Recruiter trains soldiers to aid in the defense of the city. It only begins recruiting soldiers once a Fort or Tower has been built. Only one Recruiter may be built in a city at a time.

The Recruiter can train sentries and archers by default. However, it requires weapons (either imported or made by weaponsmiths) to train infantry, and chariots (imported or made by Chariot Makers) to train charioteers. It can hold two of each for such a purpose. Tower sentries are prioritized for training, followed by charioteers, infantry, and finally archers. Regardless of troop type (and assuming adequate supplies and staffing), recruiters train 16 soldiers per 9 months. The recruiter prioritizes closer forts to those farther away, although this is only in the case of forts for identical troop types: far-away chariot forts are still prioritized over nearby archer forts.

Soldiers trained from the recruiter are inexperienced (or "green") by default. However, if an Academy is present in the city, soldiers (aside from sentries) head there after finishing their training at the Recruiter, and gain some experience before heading to their fort. Soldiers also benefit from one additional level of experience upon recruiting is a Temple Complex to Seth was built beforehand. The effects of Seth's temple complex and Academy training are cumulative.
