The Jeweler is a building type in Pharaoh.

General InformationEdit

Assuming that it is adequately supplied, a fully staffed jeweler produces 47% of 100 units of jewels per month, or 565 units per year on average. With Ptah's Temple Complex and its altar, this rate is increased to 69.6% of 100 units per month, or 835 units per year on average. In turn, this requires 0.736 gemstone mines per jeweler or 0.739 gemstone mines per jeweler without and with Ptah's temple complex and altar, respectively.

Contrary to what the game manual states, jewelery actually sells for the relatively high price of 150 debens per 100 units, which in some cases make it a lucrative good to export. However, this is hampered by the high prices of importing gemstones (120 debens per 100 units). Generally speaking, due to the high price of gemstones, it is only lucrative to export luxury goods if gemstones can be locally produced, and is only particularly worth exporting if gemstones are either not exportable or are exportable but also greatly overproduced. Otherwise, it may be more prudent to just sell gemstones, freeing workers for more worthy sectors.

Like most industrial buildings, Jewelers are undesirable to live next to. They are prone to catching fire.
