General InformationEdit

While bridges are easier to use and require no labor, ferries are necessary for allowing walkers to traverse large bodies of water. With the exceptions of immigrants, who provide their own boats, and soldiers, who require special transports, all destination walkers need ferries to cross large bodies of water. Roaming walkers, on the other hand, treat ferries as if they are roadblocks.

Ferries require two two-tile flat coastlines on either side of the body of water. They have to be relatively parallel to each other. When one is placed, a green footprint appears on the opposite shore, indicating where the second ferry may be placed.

In many cases, working ferries are crucial to a functioning city. For example, if a farm is harvested on one side of a river and the only granaries or accepting storage yards are on another, the harvest is not collected and saved from the flood if the ferries aren't properly manned. Both ferry stops have to be fully employed for ferries to function properly.

Ferries wait until either a sufficient amount of time has passed or four walkers are waiting in queue before making one trip.

Ferries are undesirable buildings to live close to.
