The Farmhouse is a general purpose farming building in Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom.
Purpose[]
Unlike in previous games, farmhouses serve as the single farming building and can grow many crops at once. A single farmhouse has the potential to grow multiple food crops at once, since crops are placed as singular tiles around the building, rather than the building being premade for a specific crop.
The buildings require large numbers of workers and must be placed on grassland. Although it is possible to place them in desert areas, the crop output will be exceptionally poor and produce nothing.
Like other farm buildings, farmhouses don't require access to the Inspector's Tower as they're protected from fire and collapse.
